Fehlinger Knepfle (late 30's early 40's) History of Weidlich Pen Company The Weidlich Pen Company is a pen manufacturer in Cincinnati, Ohio, founded by Otto Emil Weidlich circa 1889.   The company produced gold pens (dip nibs), holders, stylographic pens, and fountain pens.  Otto Weidlich filled many patents (422,474) in 1890  then (556,522)   in 1896 he filled for an ink control feed. He also patented a matchstick-filler (766,560) in 1904, and  a sleeve-filling patent (818,803) in 1906..   The company shuttered in 1914, selling its assets to Betzler & Wilson of Akron, Ohio, which moved everything   to Akron to expand its production.
